Leslie is a daughter, sister, friend, mother and scholar who has dedicated most of her professional career to being an advocate for families experiencing abuse. She received both her bachelor and master degrees from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and is currently there working on her doctorate in education administration.
Her research goals are to highlight narratives of survivors of color who academically persist after victimization while in college. She is a proud life learner and currently in her momma era, enjoying every moment raising her daughter, Maya.
