Maria Rallojay

Policy and Communications Coordinator, Hawaiʻi Coalition for Immigrant Rights

Maria’s commitment to advocacy work is rooted in her experience as a first-generation immigrant. With a B.A. in Political Science and Ethnic Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, Maria has deepened her understanding of the history of immigration and social justice movements in Hawaiʻi and the inequity and disparity faced by subaltern communities. She has a strong background in community outreach and is driven to promote equity and uplift marginalized communities.

She is currently the Policy and Communications Coordinator for the Hawaiʻi Coalition for Immigrant Rights, a statewide coalition of immigrant-led and serving organizations working to affect positive policy change for the full inclusion of immigrants and migrants in Hawaiʻi. In this capacity, she leads the coalition on legislative advocacy and campaigns, specifically on language access.
