Dennis Dunn is the Director of the Victim Witness Kokua Services, a division of the Honolulu Prosecutor’s Office, a position that he has held since 1985. He was previously employed with the Prosecutor’s Office in various positions as a Victim Advocate from 1979 to 1985. Dennis has served on a variety of state and local Boards, Committees, and Task Forces relating to crime victims issues and services during his 37 years as a professional victim advocate.
He has been actively involved in the drafting and passage of many of Hawaii’s most important victims’ rights statutes during this time period. He also was appointed by the Legislature as a member of the Act 260 Task Force on Human Trafficking from 2006 to 2010. Dennis has lectured locally on crime victims’ issues and has also been a member of the adjunct faculty in Criminal Justice at Hawaii Pacific University. To round out his busy schedule Dennis is the primary handler for Clover, Honolulu’s Courthouse Dog” and is a Skating Instructor at the Ice Palace. Dennis joined the coalition’s board in 1985 as a founding board member.
