Daisy Hartsfield is the Administrator for the Social Services Division, Department of Human Services, State of Hawai`i (DHS). She is a licensed social worker and attorney who started her career in state government as an investigator of child abuse and neglect cases.

As Division Administrator, Daisy will continue efforts to improve how families are served and advocate and provide resources for the well-being of the Division workforce. Her experience as a Mental Health Specialist, Child Welfare Worker, Juvenile Probation Officer, Deputy Public Defender, Deputy Attorney General with the Family Law Division, Supervisor of the Hawai`i Drug Court Program, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Guardian Ad Litem, and Special Assistant to the Director of the Department of Human Services helps her to understand how the social services system in Hawai`i operates, identify areas that need improvement, and take action to make the system better.

Daisy understands that engaging community partners and collaboration is critical in attaining the DHS’s vision where the people of Hawai`i are thriving and meeting the DHS’s mission to encourage self-sufficiency and support the well-being of individuals, families, and communities in Hawai`i. She appreciates opportunities to have courageous conversations and is honored to be invited to today’s round table.

Fun fact about Daisy – she is a proud Marauder (alumnus of Waipahu High School) and relieves stress by watching K-dramas.
