Clara D. Priester

Clara has been an active member of the Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence Board of Directors since 2014, serving in the roles of both Secretary and President.

For the past eight years, she has passionately served as the Executive Director of the Woman’s Board of Missions for the Pacific Islands, a faith-based organization extending compassionate ministry and outreach to women and children in crisis or unexpected need throughout Hawaii and the greater Pacific Rim. Clara has also served on the Board of Directors for the UCC Transition House, a safe house for women and their children who are survivors of domestic violence, while simultaneously advocating for survivors as a member of the Oahu Domestic Violence Task Force. She has given numerous presentations and is a frequent speaker to churches and organizations to heighten awareness about domestic violence.

To empower women toward self-sustainability, Clara mentors survivors of domestic violence and formerly incarcerated women in basic financial management, life mapping, self-care, and communication.
