Immigration Remedies for Domestic Violence Survivors

This three-part virtual learning collaboration between the Hawai’i State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (HSCADV) and the Legal Aid Society of Hawai’i’s Immigrant Justice Center (HIJC) will review the impact domestic violence has on immigration status and how service providers can assist their clients.
 

Each webinar will focus on the following remedies – Part 1 on U visas and VAWA self-petitions, Part 2 on remedies for minors, including the special immigrant juvenile status (SIJS), and Part 3 on T visas.  Attendees will gain the following objectives in this series:

  1. Describe the effects that domestic violence can have on a person’s immigration status.
  2. Analyze different options and remedies that domestic violence survivors and their families have to stay in the U.S.
