Foundations of Domestic Violence

This training will provide a basic overview of the impact, prevalence and foundation of knowledge to understand intimate partner violence. This training focuses on understanding behavioral patterns and context within the framework of domestic violence.

Victims and Survivors

This training will provide an overview of working with victims and survivors, as well as developing a further understanding of working with different populations of survivors.

Perpetrators of Domestic Violence

This training will provide an overview of perpetrators of domestic violence, their characteristics and behaviors, and understanding programs that provide perpetrator intervention services.

Children and Teens

This training will provide an overview of child development, children's response to domestic violence and the impact of domestic violence on children and adolescents. This training also focuses on the batterer as parent, and adolescents and teen dating violence.

Domestic Violence and the Law

This training will provide an overview of the civil and criminal justice systems as well as detailing civil filings such as divorce, paternity, child support, child custody, temporary restraining orders, etc. The training also focuses on employment and welfare rights for victims and the Violence Against Women Act.

Understanding Systems

This training focuses on the systems victims and survivors encounter in seeking safety and support services, including civil court, criminal court, economic/financial, housing and healthcare. The training also focuses on communities survivors may engage with such as immigration and faith communities.


This training focuses on models of intervention with victims of domestic violence, including safety planning, lethality assessments and stalking assessments. The module will also focus on special topics of interventions, such as technology safety, coordinated law enforcement response, and trauma-informed care.


This training focuses on working with clients and advocacy with clients as well as the advocacy beyond leaving model. The training also reviews issues of vicarious trauma and professional self care.
